As I was exploring the Tokens of Kindness model, I realized I should shake up my audience a bit. I had been setting up my booth on campus during the day. Instead, I decided to try a nightlife setup in a couple of different locations in Ames. The first setup was near campus, so there would be less surprises. After success of the first setup, I tried downtown Ames on a Saturday night. Each event was successful because people engaged with me and each other in a way they normally wouldn’t on a Friday or Saturday night out: committing kind acts.
I used pizza as my giveaway to make the interaction much simpler — one slice for one kind act. This was a hit.
