I had so much fun designing fun things for my wedding that I decided to re-vamp my wedding invite Etsy shop that I started in 2011. I originally populated the shop with commissions designed for friends and family but it became a hassle to upkeep with other obligations, so I stopped updating it. In years since, however, it turns out that Etsy has made it much simpler to sell digital customizable items.
With these two things in mind, I decided that the wedding invite shop is a good outlet for me to play with design trends, stay on top of new typefaces, play with different color palettes, and to use my art.
I re-opened the shop in August of 2016 and have been working to add new and fun designs, but have kept some of the popular designs from the past. I’m hoping to offer some with custom calligraphy soon, but am working to figure out how to price those since I’ll have to put more work into those. I’m also working to add matching pieces (RSVPs, signage, etc.) OR to change the wording to one-off party invites (engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, etc.) — depending on where I see the need as I research the demographic some more.
