Tu-tu-tu-Tuesday: Leg Warmers

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

I recently became obsessed with knitting leg warmers. It started with knitting a pair for Stephanie for Christmas, and then I kept making more.

I used this pattern for Electra Leg Warmers that I found on Ravelry. I cast on 40 stitches for myself and Steph, and if I were to make them again, I might even go 36-38. I have small ankles.

These are great stash-busters — they take about 2/3 a skein of worsted weight yarn (and could take less depending on how tall you want to make them). You could easily modify them to add stripes of color if you truly want to stash bust. They knit up in about an hour a piece.

I don’t have a picture of hers, but here are 2 pairs that I knit for myself …

Tu-tu-tu-Tuesday: Knitted Lace Bolero

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

It’s almost fall, which means it’s time to add some slightly warmer things to my wardrobe.  I absolutely adore this pattern by Kelly Maher of 10 Feet High.  It knits up super easy — enough to make them in multiple colors.  And it’s adaptable based on your size instead of coming in 3-4 predetermined sizes.

Newbie knitter? Never fear.  It’s actually a pretty easy pattern. This project was one of my first FO projects when I started knitting.  It’s basically a large rectangle that’s sewn together at the end.

Tut-tu-tu-Tuesday: Manwarmers

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

A while back I shared a link to my favorite knitting pattern — fetching wristwarmers. I made a modified version of these for Mark. I call them: MANWARMERS.

I’ve never written a pattern before, but here is an attempt.

FO Friday: Roseanne Afghan

Friday, February 25th, 2011

It’s not completely a finished object yet, but I’ve been making steady and fast progress on my Roseanne Afghan (ie. granny square blanket).

For those of you who don’t know, I love Roseanne. I own all 9 seasons of it on DVD. And I had to make myself an afghan like the one on their couch.

Mine is coming along swimmingly. Except I originally started it in 2007. It’s the project I work on when I’m not working on other projects. So really, this is the most I’ve worked on it.

I’m finished with all the squares and started piecing it together.

Wish me luck! I hope to post a REAL FO Friday for this in the near future.
