Work fun!

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

Last week I wasn’t feeling very well, and especially not on Wednesday, so I called in sick.  I didn’t realize that it was the same day that Twilight came out (barf), and my one coworker said “We all know why Calee’s not here today — she was up late at the midnight showing of Twilight.”

They all know how I feel about Twilight and, well, my coworkers thought it would be funny to photobomb my cube.

Here are photos from their debacle.

Ha. Ha. HA. Yeah … I enjoyed it. Made my day better. It was fun taking them all down. ;)

wasted saturday

and now I’m wasting more of it by blogging! yay.

I’ve been up since 8 and I had a few simple updates to my friend Kim’s site that I was going to do…create more wordpress themes (she has 8 from which to choose now!) and do a few minor edits…OH and make sure the main site goes directly to the wordpress gallery page.

So…instead of installing a new version of WP into the main directory, I just copied/pasted the gallery folder…well, obviously (ms. lazybutt) that wasn’t going to work. Ok. Delete files. Great. back to square one again.  So I decided to do a redirect of her domain to the /gallery folder.  Yay! IT WORKED.  OH WAIT.  Now you can’t login to the /wp-admin for the gallery OR the blog. CRAP.

So….after a long phone convo (including curse words) with the go-daddy  not-so-helpful-customer-service rep, I figured out how to pull the redirect off — no, godaddy doesn’t actually pull off the redirect when you select “delete redirect” — it can’t be THAT simple.  Nope. Anyway, site redirect is off, and all is well with the world. EXCEPT that it’s now 11:30 and my simple hour-long project turned into a time-suck of a morning project — all thanks to GoDaddy’s shitty webhosting. Really? Really. GoDaddy sucks.  If you install wordpress/joomla/drupal/etc. and delete the installation, you can never actually get RID of all the files from the installation.  They won’t let you delete them. Not using an FTP client…not by using their file manager…nothing. They just have to live there and waste space.

If I would have known that, I would have just gone with hostgator.  Anyway, that’s the end of my rant. Moral of the story — don’t use godaddy. They SUCK!
