More Ryan Gosling

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Guys, I found Typography Ryan Gosling and Graphic Design Ryan Gosling. Neither of which are worth linking to because they only have 1-3 posts a piece … but still.

Check it out. I love that the type isn’t that god-awful on these (which is kind of the point).

And by wedding, I actually mean baby shower this time.

I created these adorable invites for Adria. I’m probably going to retool them to become wedding invites because I like them so much. :)

PS I blurred her address out but if you know us and would like to send her something, e-mail me and I’ll shoot you her address.

So many things have happened …

Monday, August 15th, 2011

Last month was crazy. Here is a sneak peek at things that happened before I get to blogging about them …

… Mark’s brother Nick’s birthday in Stillwater …

… Mark’s 25th birthday in Chicago …

… awesome new fabric …

… moving …

… a really awesome project for Drake …

... and LOTS and lots of food.

(asian lettuce wraps)

(chicken strips with honey mustard and sweet corn)

(kung pao chicken)

(stovetop creamy mac and cheese made with REAL cheese)

(chicken, broccoli and mushroom alfredo with pappardelle’s tomato cracked pepper pasta)

(tomato, basil and chevré pizza)

so hopefully I will have some time to share these experiences with you!  And of course all the recipes.  I will also try to start sharing points plus numbers with you at the suggestion of Kelly.

Wedding Invite Wednesday: Nicki Invites

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

These lovely invites were created based on some save the dates I made for my friend Nicki who just got married in fabulous Las Vegas last week. I pulled in some Vegas-style fonts and colors. I’m digging the one that has all the fun colors.

I’m planning on having a few other Vegas invites. Because according to the Chapel of Flowers, people get married EVERY HOUR there. And contrary to popular belief, some people actually PLAN to do so.

PS: Today is the last day to sign up for the ceramics class that I’m teaching on SaturdayRegister online.

Monday Madness Giveaway

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

It’s been a VERY long time since I’ve done a giveaway.  (In case you’re curious, I did one at the beginning of June of 2009, another in the middle of June 2009, one at the beginning of July 2009, one in the middle of July 2009, one in July 2010, one in August of 2010 and one in September 2010).

//EDIT// I posted this giveaway and realized that today is also Giveaway Day on Sew Mama Sew. I’m featured on the handcrafted items page.

Last time I did one, I had a trivia question. But I’m going to make this one really easy.

First — the prize?

A teeny tiny wallet of your choice — one of these two:

What do you have to do to win, you ask?  Simple.  Just comment on this post with which one of these you prefer if you win. Make sure your e-mail address is correct when you fill out the comment box or I will have no way of contacting you if you win.  Want another entry?  Tweet or facebook about the contest, and leave a comment on this post with a link to the tweet or post.  Want yet ANOTHER entry?  Follow me on Networked Blogs (check out the sidebar over here on the right).

Contest ends on Memorial Day (Monday, May 30). I will randomly choose a winner by using random.org’s generator. Good luck!

FO Friday: Tattoo Dishes

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

When I was moving, I uncovered these fabulous dishes I was working on back in 2009.  I totally forgot about them, but am hoping to finish them before Craft Saturday on April 30.

Except … I have no idea what to put in the ribbon on the hearts. There are 4 plates that need something filled in and I plan to make the mugs to match.  I was going to do Mom, Dad, Love and something else, but realized if a family that didn’t have a mom, or didn’t have a dad might want these dishes and be offended.  My best idea so far is to keep it blank and personalize it for the person who buys it, but that’s not probably the BEST way to go about it.

Ideas???

Wedding Invite Wednesday #1: Stephanie Invites

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Thought my lovely blog readers would like a sneak peek at my wedding invites as I design them for the wedding invite store I’m opening on Etsy this fall. (PS the shop name is weddingchimes invites — already reserved the etsy username and storefront)

You’ve already seen this one, but not with all the color options that I’m going to be posting. Not that the color options actually MATTER because it’s going to be completely custom, but I spent a bit of time picking pretty colors.

Since I’m not launching this shop just yet, if anybody’s got any suggestions, feel free to comment. I would love feedback because I really want this shop to succeed.

More Wedding Invites!

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

My friend Doris is getting married and I offered to help pull together her invites.

She had some beautiful church architecture and wildflower inspired sketches and a desire for an e.e. cummings type treatment. So I waved my magic wand and put it together for her. She printed these on some pretty silver paper.

Here’s a photo of the invite, RSVP and Doris’s original sketch from her blog.

Her wedding is in less than 45 days. So exciting!
