My Sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project

Monday, January 17th, 2011

The time has finally come for me to have FINISHED A PROJECT.

Although, “finishing” this project involved tearing out a few blank pages …

REGARDLESS, I am mailing my sketchbook in tomorrow, which is the postmark deadline. Which means hopefully I can make it to work tomorrow with the weather being this crappy because I left my sketchbook at work over the weekend assuming I would mail it from work over lunch tomorrow. KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED.

Here are a few selections from my sketchiebook. Enjoy.

FO Friday: Sketchbook Project 2011 Progress

Friday, September 17th, 2010

I’m so cheating here. I don’t have a finished project to show you this week. It’s been too busy with a trip back home for a wedding last weekend, a trip to southern Illinois this weekend for a family wedding (I’m on the road as you’re reading this), two offsite press checks this week for work, amongst lord-knows-what-else. So crafting has been put aside.

However, I’ve still been working on my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Project. I’ll be updating on this on occasion, but I will be updating the page on my portfolio whenever I finish a new spread.

Sketchbook Project 2011 Progress

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

For those of you who don’t know, I’m participating in the Art House Coop’s Sketchbook Project this year.  That’s what the little doo-hickey on my sidebar is all about.

I received my sketchbook last week. My theme is “It’ll be fun, I swear.”

So far, I’ve just been playing around with simple pen drawings and watercolor. I’m going to try to make it more about hand-lettering than anything.

Here’s some photos of my progress for this week. I’m going to scan each page in when they’re finished so I have a digital copy since I have to mail it in and they get to keep it in their archives. It will travel across the country. How cool is that?

it'll be fun. i swear.

Right now I’m keeping it on my kitchen table so I can work on it while I’m cooking dinner rather than munching on things. Good plan, eh?
